Other Pictures and Blog Posts
We are ALWAYS looking for items of interest to SHS Class of '70- old annual scans (including Jr. High), elementary class group pictures, issues of The Arrowhead, etc. If you have class pictures, or any other items you'd like share, send jpg scans to me (e-mail address below). Be sure to identify the school, class, teacher, and as many of the students as possible. Personal photos of classmates *way back when* are also welcome.
How to Post Your Updates
To reduce the number of spammers and trolls, comment moderation has been instituted on this blog. Send your updates and pictures directly to me at : kathleentaylor1952@gmail.com . Please put SHS 70 Blog in the header of your e-mail, and I'll get things posted as quickly as possible.
Who we want: everyone who was a member of SHS Class of '70.
What we want: a brief description of what you've been doing for the last 40 years. You can include links to your own blogs, work places, and other sites of interest, if you like. We aren't going to edit the posts, so whatever you send will be posted. Be sure to include your name.
Pictures: send a photo or two in jpg format, to the above e-mail address, with your other information. We won't alter the pictures, except to reduce them in size if the file is too large. Around 200-300kb is best, but we can handle the reduction if you don't know how to do it. We're going to post senior class pictures from the annual alongside your current pictures, whenever possible.
What we Don't Want: Audio or Video files. They take up too much bandwidth. But if you have either one posted elsewhere on the net, feel free to add those links to your info.
What You Want To Think About: We won't alter your post, but do think carefully about how much personal info you want to include in your update. E-mail addresses are great (in fact, we heartily encourage the posting of e-mail addresses. Please let us know if you don't want your e-mail address posted with your update). Snail mail addresses not so much. Or phone numbers. Or the last names of minors. If you want to exchange street addresses, etc with other classmates, please use e-mail for that.
Remember: Though only SHS Class of 1970 members will have posts published here, everyone in the world can read what is posted.
If You Don't Know How to Send Files Via e-mail: e-mail me, and I'll send you instructions for snail-mailing your info to be posted from here.
How To Navigate the Posts
Each class member will have one blog post, to which can be added additional pictures or information if the class member wishes. Posts made to this blog will be archived as to the posting date.
In order to find a specific class member's information, type the member's name in the search window at the top of the blog home page. Each post will have multiple tags to make searching easier. The tags will include names and nicknames, state of residence, occupation, and any other identifying tags we can think of (sports, cheerleader, etc). For example, my post will have the following tags: Kathi, Kathleen, Prater, Taylor, writer, blogger, grandmother, South Dakota . Type any of those words into the search window, and my post will appear in the list, along with anyone else who also shares some, or all (though that's not likely) of the same tags.
I'm a writer (6 mysteries, one mainstream novel, 5 knitting books, lots of designs and reviews, paper dolls, blather), wife, mother, and grandmother. I knit, I watch TV obsessively while I knit, I spin, I read, I listen to music, and I talk. A lot.
