Here is his obituary, from the Everett Herald.
Eric Neil Tronsrud
Eric Neil Tronsrud passed peacefully from this life on March 18, 2010 at age 59. He was born January 31, 1951 in Seattle, Washington.
Eric suffered a great many years of tormenting pain from undiagnosed Lyme Disease with accompanying co-infections of Bartinella, Babessa, Malaria, and Arthritus, culminating in a fatal lung tumor.
Eric was an artist painting in oils, water colors, and acrylics, preferring to do landscapes and seascapes. He was also a wood carver, wood worker, made jewelry, and enjoyed weaving and photography. He was a voracious reader and most especially enjoyed the sciences.
He was predeceased by an infant sister; and his father, Neil Ralph Tronsrud.
He is survived by mother, Betty van Soest Tronsrud; uncle, Peter J. van Soest, Professor Emeritus of Comparative Nutrition at Cornell University, residing in Alpine, NY; cousins, John van Soest (wife, Terri and children, Brianna and Abby, at Fontainebleau of Alpine, NY), Anne E. van Soest, of Washington, DC, Justin van Soest (wife, Kierston and children, Oliver and Phoebe, of Portland, ME); and special aunt, Marian van Soest, of Ithaca, NY.
Eric most especially wanted to thank all the people surrounding him for their thoughtfulness and many prayers during his final illness and the nurses from Hospice.
At his request there will be no service. If desired a remembrance may be made to Channel 9 (his favorite) or an organization of your choice.
