Glen Allen- 1950-2016

Glen Allen, 65, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016, in Spokane, Wash. His home was in Odessa, Wash. He was born in Eldorado, Illinois on November 23, 1950, to Harold and Merle Allen. His family moved to Snohomish, Wash. during his childhood. Following school he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served his country in Viet Nam. Glen was a talented musician, singer, songwriter and artist. He was a member of several bands throughout the state. Glen had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and a huge capac-ity to love. He was sensitive and giving to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Merle Allen; his brothers, James Allen and Gordon Allen; and his grandson, Kenneth (known to the family as Tripp) Heagy. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Allen of Odessa, Wash.; his brother, Michael (Sheila) Allen, and sisters, Carolyn (James) McCullar, Kathleen (Gordon) Brougher, all of Soap Lake, Wash.; daughter, Kristina (Kenneth) Heagy and sons, Jeremy Allen and Michael (Jeanette) Allen, all of Everett, Wash.; and daughter, Coreen (H.P.) Carstensen of Odessa; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and so many friends who Glen thought of as family. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Bread of Life Church, 140 14th Ave. NW in Ephrata, WA with a fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Glen's name be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th floor, New York, NY 10001. -
